Joshua Chanin, JD (Indiana University 2005), PhD (American University 2011)
Josh is an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Affairs. He received his doctorate from the School of Public Affairs at American University. While at AU, he worked at the intersection of law, public administration, and criminal justice and will continue to do so at SDSU. Josh’s dissertation examines the implementation and institutionalization of federal efforts to remedy systematic police misconduct. Other general interests include public law; bureaucratic accountability; criminal procedure; police behavior, especially related to the use of force; and the relationship between public safety and individual liberty.
