ALEO Workshop: The Three C’s of Effective Media Communication: Confidence, Clarity, and Connection for Elected Officials

 

Overview

StrongHER Media, led by Claire Strong (media and communication coach and former BBC anchor), delivers an interactive, two-hour media training workshop designed to help elected officials communicate with confidence, clarity, and connection in high-stakes media and public-facing situations.

Participants will gain practical tools to prepare for interviews, press conferences, and on-the-record interactions, while also strengthening communication with staff and constituents.

In this session, participants will:

• Apply the Three C’s framework — Confidence, Clarity, and Connection — to all media and public-facing interactions
• Craft concise, clear, and memorable messages tailored to different audiences
• Practice real-world media scenarios, including mock press interviews
• Receive real-time feedback and guidance to enhance delivery, credibility, and confidence
• Learn strategies to engage effectively across in-person and digital platforms
• Connect with fellow elected officials in a supportive, interactive environment

Workshop Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with practical media skills and strategies to communicate effectively on the record, build public trust, and represent their offices with confidence.
