Bio
My name is Briana Zavala. I grew up in Southeast San Diego, graduated from Lincoln High School, and received a full-ride scholarship to UCSD.
I began my County career as a Student Worker for the District Attorney (DA) over six years ago. Working under the DA’s Executive Team, I joined the Crime Prevention and Intervention Programs unit where I was able to work in the community I grew up in, as well as provide services to those in need. I worked for the Juvenile Department, and after that landed in the Legislative Division for the past 4 years. I have had the opportunity to work directly with state legislators and create laws that benefit the State of California. I just started a new position as a Project Officer for the Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Department. I am passionate and devoted to my career as a public servant. My future goal is to be an elected official and sit on the County Board of Supervisors. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and going to Disneyland. I am a wife, daughter, and mother to two beautiful girls. I am excited to be a student again and learn from you all.
