Bio
My name is Krysta Wanner. As my first time in the private sector, I currently serve as Manager of Government Affairs for Western Propane Gas Association. In this role, I handle all legislative and regulatory matters, as well as managing two consultants and acting as the in-house lobbyist. I also have prior experience in public policy and working with state agencies, as I have worked for the California State Senate, Commission on Peace Officer Standards & Training, and Workforce Development Board. Outside of work, I have served as Vice President of the Browns Elementary School Board for two years.
In 2017, I graduated from Cal Poly: San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor’s in Political Science (Pre- law concentration). I also have a Minor in Sociology. My professional goals may include running for local office like City Council or the County Board of Supervisors, though my dream job is to work in forest management and wildfire mitigation policy. It is important to me that my job includes serving others and working for something greater than myself. I have a passion for public service. It is my hope that a Master’s in Public Administration will help prepare me for future leadership roles. On the rare occasion I have spare time, I like to go wine tasting, line dancing, and travel to visit friends.
