Bio
My name is Nick Colonelli, I am a Battalion Chief for Anaheim Fire & Rescue, with 25 years of service in the Southern California Fire Service. I have been privileged to serve my organization in many capacities including the position of Firefighter, Fire Engineer, Fire Captain, SWAT Medic, Arson Investigator, Support Services Coordinator, Interim Emergency Manager and Terrorism Liaison Coordinator assigned to our regional Intelligence Assessment Center. In addition to my Fire Service career, I have over ten years of volunteerism, serving as Reserve Deputy Sheriff/Paramedic assigned to Harbor Patrol and Helicopter Search and Rescue. In my free time I enjoy sailing, diving, and I have recently taken up running, on purpose.
I am looking forward to meeting, working with and learning from my cohort colleagues, capturing new ideas and fresh perspectives on avenues for adapting to the ever changing environment of public service. One common pit fall of a career spent in a public safety vertical is a narrowed perspective on the overall awareness of all aspects of public administration and governance, thus I am grateful to have a well-diversified cohort of professionals to help me widen my perspective to grow into a well-rounded public servant.
