Bio
Catherine Hill brings 35 years of legislative policy analysis, regional and state-wide advocacy, coalition building, political strategy, and campaign experience to the League of California Cities (Cal Cities). Joining Cal Cities in the newly created Regional Public Affairs Department in January 2002, Ms. Hill has spent the last 23 years working throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties with city officials and staff, civic and professional organizations, and communities on local government advocacy. Prior to Cal Cities, Ms. Hill worked as a senior district staff member in both the California State Assembly and Senate. Hill’s campaign experience includes media spokesperson, field coordination and training, volunteer development and fundraising.
She has also been involved in civic organizations including San Diego State University’s Alumni Association, California Women Lead, serving as a founding member of the San Diego County Chapter, 211 San Diego and Imperial Counties, United Way of San Diego County, Volunteer San Diego, Girl Scouts of San Diego-Imperial County and MADCAPS (Mothers and Daughters Club Assisting Philanthropies). Hill was honored as one of SD Metro Magazine’s “Forty Under 40” Award, highlighting individuals under the age of forty in the San Diego region for their professional achievements.
Hill, a native of San Diego, is a proud graduate of San Diego State University. In her spare time, she logs a lot of miles going nowhere on her Peloton, watches Padres baseball and Aztec basketball. She resides in Point Loma with her husband and has two adult daughters.
