Bio
My name is Paola Pasqualini, and I am the Resource Planning Energy Policy Advisor in the Energy & Fuel Procurement group at San Diego Gas & Electric, where I help set company policies and practices to comply with federal and state energy legislation and emissions targets. In prior roles at SDG&E, I worked as a Municipality Advisor, working with local governments on various issues related to utility service. I worked in telecommunications for ten years before joining San Diego Gas and Electric.
My team and I prepare policy statements, testimonies, pleadings, and compliance filings in regulatory proceedings. I coordinate and manage the annual Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Plan filing, including developing a procurement strategy that complies with statewide RPS regulations. This involves editing, providing written content, coordinating team updates of documents, and working with the independent evaluator and internal legal department to refine SDG&E's positions.
I strive to be a leader within my department through training and advocating for policy initiatives that will positively impact our community and environment. It is gratifying to be part of Investor Owned Utilities (IOU) and CPUC meetings where sustainable recommendations are being discussed and potentially adopted.
On a more personal level, I currently serve as treasurer on the Board of Directors for The Girl Scouts of America for troop 3287. I advocate for initiatives promoting women's leadership and safety in building young girls' character and confidence. I received my bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in advertising from San Diego State University when I moved to the United States from Brazil. I enjoy traveling with my family, racing triathlons, or doing any outdoor activities in my free time.
