They advise all MCP Program students in matters related to procedure, administration, and processing of official programs of study. In matters related to the substance and content of specific courses, students are encouraged to seek the advice of appropriate City Planning faculty as well as other faculty members within the School. Students meet with the Advisor at least once each semester for purposes of curriculum planning.

The MCP Program conducts a student orientation session along with the other MCP faculty in August of each year. The purposes of this orientation are to acquaint incoming students with MCP Program philosophy and requirements, MCP faculty, other students, and career opportunities.
